Happy New Year from Dinner Is Served!

What a year it’s been!  Since starting my blog in June, I’ve shared close to 60 recipes with you and I am slowly getting the hang of this blogging thing.  I truly appreciate your support throughout it all.

No surprise that food takes center stage for us on New Years Eve, which we celebrate with my friend Kathy (of Shrimp & Grits fame) and her husband.  Some notable items on the menu this year include a spice rubbed beef roast with a red wine reduction sauce, skillet potatoes (also known as “pommes persillade), and sauteed spinach with panko.  For dessert, Kathy is making this lovely mixed berry compote with mascarpone-limoncello cream, and biscotti served with vin santo.

We have an ample supply of  Segura Viudas Aria Brut Cava as well as a  favorite red wine from Provence: Mas de Gourgonnier.

A toast to the new year.  May it be filled with happiness, good health and peace for all.  And of course and endless supply of good things to eat and drink.  A votre sante!
